Thanking Cleanerlife
Cleanerlife has been commenting on, starring and favoriting many of my lenses. This is my chance to thank him. His devotion to ecology and environmental topics makes him one of my favorite lensmasters all round. May I note that he is thanking more lensmasters at the bottom of this interview than any before
Why are you a squidoo lensmaster?
Making lenses is fun and addicting. I originally thought Squidoo was just a way to market my first website, but after getting involved with Squidoo, I’ve spent more time with Squidoo than I originally intended.
What is your favorite lens?
Add Your Profile – Make New Friends - this is the lens that woke me up to the great comunity of Squidoo’ers. I haven’t meet all my Squidoo friends through this lens, but this was where my Squidoo related activity started.
What lens of yours is most under appreciated?
My lens on Tony Levin, maybe it needs a better title. It’s probably best suited for a very small audience, Mr. Levin has recorded on a huge number of albums, but he’s really not a household name, and may never be. I’m mostly listing it because it has the lowest rank right now, and it’s the only one of my lenses that hasn’t received any comments — it has been rated, so big thanks to the 3 people who did rate it!
What lens of yours is most popular?
Tips And Ideas For Designing A Successful Website is my best ranked, but traffic for The Love Of Dragons: Dragons In Books And On Video really took off when I entered it into enslavedbyfaeries‘ Squid’s Choice Awards.
What’s one thing you see lensmasters doing that doesn’t work – and why doesn’t it?
Loading their lenses with a lot of unrelated content. I see some lenses that seem to try to use every module possible, regardless of weather it fits with their topic. I did that at first, then went back and removed quite a few modules from my earlier lenses when I saw how much it irritated me when reading other lenses.
What’s your most important squidoo promotion method?
Being social — I’ve been social within Squidoo, but now I need to reach outside of Squidoo.
Which lensmaster(s) have helped you most?
This will be hard, and I hope I don’t leave anyone off:
Lisadh - Her 97 Social Bookmarking Sites with Google PageRank lens wasn’t the first lens I ever saw, but it’s the one I remember visiting the most before joining. I’m not even sure if I ever finished going through all those bookmarking sites!
The rest of these have been helped in many ways, some just by the information they’ve posted, and others have communicated to me or supported me in various ways (lens comments, blog comments, emails, twitter, etc.): a_willow, adez7, aj2008,bdkz, BigJim, Eclectic_Muse, EelKat, enslavedbyfaeries, fefe, GypsyOwl, inkserotica, JaguarJulie, Janet21, jeffwend, Joan4, LindaJM, Loyalis, mulberry, N376, NAIZA, Noadi, OhMe, pkmcr, poddys, Rock_The_Ice, SemperFidelis, spirituality, Tiddledeewinks, thefluffanutta, triathlontraining, vbright105 and WhippetTalk.

Another great interview. Checked out the Tony Levin lens, learned a lot…I’ve never been very aware of many of the major talents that are out there…but Squidoo has taught me much and introduced me to some great stuff.

I’m very grateful for the mention too, this was a great interview.
I think the most amazing thing with Squidoo is how happy people are to help each other. Of course there is always an alterior motive for creating lenses and posts with details of other lensmasters, the posibility of creating a popular lens or blog, but it all comes back to help everyone, and I love it.
I am also honoured to be one of such a great group of lensmasters.
